Prompt #21 for the 2024 "Pinuptober" drawing challenge was drink.
I struggled a bit in coming up with the concept for this prompt until I thought about a comic panel I drew that took place in a coffee bar. By coffee bar I mean all coffee flavored liquors and coffees mixed with alcohol as the theme of the bar. Maybe I'll open that place one day! (:
I spent quite a while researching existing names and coming up with new ones for that panel and Legless London was one of the 'Tipsy Teas' I landed on. From there, it wasn't a big leap to Legless Latte and that naturally called for a mermaid label on sea glass colored bottle for this prompt.
By the way, I redraw that comic panel every so often to measure my growth and to reshare the evergreen message at it's core. You can view the most recent version of the panel here. Also, keep an eye out, because it's time to draw that one again because I've grown A LOT since I last drew it.
Legless Latte
- Each Pinuptober piece is a unique, HR Johnson original created on a Twitch live stream.
- Each drawing took 4 - 5.5 hours to complete.
- Alchohol markers on 65 lb card stock.
- Drawings come in a protective sleeve with chipboard insert to help prevent bending.
