Prompt #7 for the 2024 "Pinuptober" drawing challenge was mirror and #8 was explorer. I combined these prompts for this drawing.
 
This piece was a rumination on the famous quote attributed to Nietzsche.:
"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."
 
I included subtle differences in the reflection to invoke the imagery and feeling of theatre masks. Much like a lot of self-reflection can be, the story and outcome here is unclear. The story you concoct when considering this scene might reveal something to you about yourself. 
 
I definitely had my own story in mind while creating it but I recognise that there could be many different stories and interpretations.; I want you to interact with the situation you see, go on your own journey, and come to your own conclusions.
