Scarecrows 2019
It's that time of year again! Y'all know I love one particular Summerville fall fundraiser... I'm talking about The Junior Service League of Summerville's annual Scarecrows on the Square event! This unique event raises funds for local school districts and allows Summerville's creativity to shine in the heart of downtown. I've enjoyed being a part of this event since 2012. SOTS is back on the newly renovated Hutchinson Square!
Here's a look back at past entries!
2012 Scarecrows on the Square created for The Flowertown Players. The one that started it all... 2013 Entry for Scarecrows on the Square. I had so much fun coming up with this concept and art. (: The 2014 display designed for The Flowertown Players season of shows. Creating these life size cut outs was challenging and fun. The 2014 display at night. This was an amazing year. I got to help Chair this event and create the concept for JSL's scarecrow. It all came together beautifully! This was the 2015 display for Flowertown Players. I got as many shows in from 40 years as I could. So much art in this mural! Got to participate in JSL's first ever Christmas on the Square. This little tree and flowers are made from recycled bottles. Closer view of the bottle rope Christmas tree. Milk jug wing for the first Scarecrow for Renewed Views. Made from recycled stuff! Recycled scarecrow. Christmas on the Square 2017 Display for Renewed Views. Made from discarded household items and litter found in Summerville.
